It has been a super long time since I’ve posted anything on the site, right after my promise of becoming more productive with adding content to the site. I recognize the irony, and I’m sorry.
But my earlier promise of a special project is not a falsehood. I have been busy working on my latest creative venture, and I’ve actually had to re-learn how to code in Java. I posit this picture as evidence:
The program is called SNOW, and it is a piece of interactive fiction. IF is more commonly known as a “text-based adventure.” I don’t want to say much about the game’s story at this point, only that it takes place on a diesel-powered icebreaker ship and there is no one ending. Mysterious and spoiler free enough? Good.
I don’t know how much longer it will take to finish coding the game, and I don’t know how it will be able to be played by anyone who isn’t me. BUT I will find out answers to these and will keep you all appraised!
Well, that’s all for this update, everyone! I must leave in order to find ways to put off school work and give you guys more content.

John, man, gotta say, I’m very intrigued by the idea. IF is quite the underground medium, I used to have a bunch of interpreters and titles back in the day… still have kind of a fascination but I’ve basically given up on them because they either make me too scared to sleep at night, or are too difficult for me to get past the first room without getting eaten by a grue. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who knows that they exist! LOL

Yeah, I was actually introduced to them through parody, but it gave me an interest to explore some of the classic ones. I decided to use the three years of high school comp sci for good, though. I haven’t gotten to the point where I could either get inside your head or be *too* terribly hard to beat, even though there won’t be any one right ending. Hopefully you can let me know what you think of the final project! Any feedback is great, a’cearse.
